To welcome my remote students to my Earth science classes, I made this introductory video on PowerPoint. PowerPoint was great for me as someone with little video editing experience. I’ve gotten really frustrated with learning iMovie and other editing software in the past. But making a video slide show was much easier. I used freely available music from bensound and free video from pexels. (Shout outs to all the artists out there who have donated their great work on these platforms. You’re awesome!)
The hardest part was writing a script that I thought would really hit home. Then I use the Screencastify Chrome extension to record my voice over the slide show and just manually advanced the slides when I wanted the next image.
